Montana State University Extension Forage Specialist, Dr. Dennis Cash, will be in Sidney on Monday evening May 12th to teach area alfalfa producer’s the keys to quality alfalfa production. The meeting will be held at the VFW Hall with a free burger feed starting at 6:00 PM.
Topics that will be covered include alfalfa stand assessment and renovation, pest control, harvest timing and overall management. Dr. Cash will cover alfalfa production strategies for both dryland and irrigated fields. With the dry spring we have had in Eastern Montana, even considering the recent rains, forage availability for the coming winter may be as important as ever. This workshop will be a great opportunity to get the information needed to prepare your fields for the best possible forage yields.
Please join Dr. Cash and other producers for a fun free workshop and meal at the VFW Hall in Sidney on Monday, May 12th at 6:00 PM. For additional information contact Ben Larson at the Richland County MSU Extension Office by calling (406) 433-1206 or visiting Extension’s web site, www.richland.org/extension/.
