Swigart, Whiteman, 4-H Foundation Scholarships Announced
At the recent Annual 4-H Achievement Day scholarships were announced. They are as follows:
Richland County 4-H Memorial Scholarship
In past years 4-H has lost many great leaders. In their memory, money has been donated and given in the form of scholarships. This year’s scholarship is awarded to Lacie Whitford and Alexis Buxbaum.
Swigart Scholarship
Long time 4-H Leader Margaret Swigart passed away in March of 1981. Before her death, Margaret established an account, in form of a CD, of which the interest is to be used to provide college scholarships. This year’s recipient is Amy Redman.
Whiteman Memorial Scholarship
In January of 1998, Pat Whiteman, a devoted and beloved 4-H Leader passed away unexpectedly. A memorial scholarship fund was set up by her family and the first scholarship was awarded at the 1999 Achievement Day. The winner of this year’s scholarship is Mykel Ler.
4-H Foundation Scholarship
Through the Montana 4-H Foundation, area residents have set up scholarships to be given away in Richland County.
The Bauman Scholarship, has been set up to support area members as the attend college. The recipients of this years award are Mykel Ler & Amanda VanEvery.
In memory of Marianne and Ted Goss, a 4 year scholarship was set up through the 4-H Foundation. This year’s award was presented to Katelyn Koch.
