Richland County 4-H Successful at N.I.L.E.

The Richland County Livestock judging team recently competed at the 2007 N.I.L.E. The completion pulls 4-H and FFA members from area states to make up it one of the premier judging’s in the region. The contest was held in conjunction with the Stock Show and PBR/NILE Bull Riding, Trade Show and Horse Extravaganza. This years contest consisted of over 117 judging teams from the area.
The Senior Team was led by Kayleen Searer with an 8th Individual place overall. Other team members included Erin Oliver, Levi Helmuth and Joyce Wick who all had a great showing. In addition the team placed 9th in beef classes and 8th in sheep classes.
The Junior Team was led by Wyatt Handy with a 4th Individual place overall.
Other team members included Hanna Jepsen and Rachel Oliver. In addition the team placed 4th in sheep and hog classes, 9th in reasons, and 6th overall.
Congratulations go to all members participating and also to their judging coach, Randy Searer. The teams have put in many hours practicing reasons and looking at classes of livestock. The 2008 season for the team will begin at the Ag Days Livestock Judging that will be held on January 12th, 2008 in Sidney.
