Goal (from VISTA Project Plan):
Address community poverty-related needs by strengthening the community and the development of infrastructure through a community building process. The process will engage individual citizens, citizen groups, and agencies to address community needs and will enable the community to develop and implement a strategic plan resulting in sustainable activities to meet community needs.

Activity 1:  Organize Fund Raiser
Step 1: Research applicable fund-raiser plans
Step 2: Meet with Coalition Staff & Board of Directors to begin planning event
Step 3: Prepare for the fund raiser event – set date, appoint committees, etc.
Step 4: Hold the fund raiser event

Activity 2: Organize Media Literacy Programs for Phillips & Valley County Schools (Malta, Dodson, Whitewater, Saco, Hinsdale and Glasgow)
Step 1:  Contact each of the schools regarding plans and needs for this year.
Step 2:  Meet with person in each school and schedule training for the year.
Step 3:   Determine if a person at each school with teach or if VISTA will teach.
Step 4:  Work with Megan Jensen – District 11 for ordering any material.
Step 5:  Attend quarterly Media Literacy meetings in Sidney with Carol.

Activity 3: Update and publish the Biennial Phillips County Needs Assessment
Step 1:  Review the current Phillips County Needs Assessment.
Step 2:  Research other possible formats for the new Needs Assessment.
Step 3:  Meet with PCCHC Director and others to plan the compilation of Needs    Assessment.  Update the statistics etc.
Step 4:  Prepare the Needs Assessment for publishing.
Step 5:  Publish the document in the final format.
Step 6:  Visit and distribute to local entities that will use the Needs Assessment.
