Environmental Health
Many factors in the environment also contribute to public health, and the Richland County Health Department works with other county agencies to ensure that water and air quality are monitored and managed to protect the health of our environment and the people and animals who live in it. From farmers and ranchers to hunters and every other member of the community, water and air quality and other enviromental issues have a significant impact on personal and community health.
The RCHD is working with the Water Quality Action Group, a group of citizens who are implementing the portions of the Community Strategic Plan that relate to water quality. If you have questions about water quality in our county, private testing, who monitors the impact of oil drilling on water or anything in-between, please vist their site.
One of the RCHD's key partners is the Richland County Conservation District. They promote "local common sense conservation" for our county and provide a wide variety of services that educate people about and protect our natural resources. For more information, they can be reached at (406) 433-2103. The Conservation District is located at 2754 W Holly St, Sidney, MT 59270.
