Applying for Funds
The Application Process
To apply for funds from the Richland County Senior Coalition you must submit a written application.  Applications can be obtained by clicking here or from any Senior Coalition Board Member.  Applications can also be picked up at the Richland County Commission on Aging, the Richland County Health Department, the Sidney Health Center Visiting Nurse Program or from a Sidney Health Center Social Worker.

All applications will be kept confidential and reviewed by the Senior Coalition Finance Committee within 30 days of receipt.  The committee will assume that all requests for assistance are sincere, honest and reasonable. All decisions will be on a case by case basis and be based on information provided in the written request and any other information the Committee may require. Applications with an income of more than 300% above the current Federal Poverty Guidelines will be considered under special circumstances and must be approved by all three members of the Financial Committee.

How Much Will Be Granted?
Many requests are for ongoing services so a dollar amount is not set; rather a time period that the service may be received is imposed.  If a beneficiary is still in need of a service once they have reached their time limit (6 months to 2 years in most cases) the individual is welcome to reapply. When reviewing new requests and for requests of a continuation of services the Committee must work with the funds that are available at the time of the request while making sure that enough funds remain to pay for the lifetime of the approved service.  Therefore, grants may vary from one beneficiary to another.
