Phase 1 involves investigation, brainstorming, and ultimately, the formation of multiple outline plans (with cost estimates) for the building project. The Library has hired Jeffrey Sandholm, AIA of Dowling-Sandholm Architects to develop conceptual sketches and cost estimates for rennovating or replacing the current building on either the current or a new site.
Needs Analysis
The 2011 Space Needs Analysis was completed with help from an outside consultant in August 2011. It covers the current uses and future needs of the library building space and identifies specific features that will be needed to support a growing community, changing needs of the general public and the library of the 21st century.
The world is changing. There are more people in our community every day, and we rely more heavily on technology. The digital divide is a real issue, and the Library proposes to offer universal access to the benefits of high-speed internet and all types of information resources to the entire population of Richland County.
