2025-2026 Influenza Season Snapshot
Influenza is a seasonal virus, which means we typically expect cases every year during a certain time period. Flu season in Montana is considered to be from October through May. The 2025 to 2026 flu season saw 200 positive cases, which means that 200 people were sick enough to seek medical attention, be tested, and test positive for influenza A or B. The actual number of flu cases is likelly much larger, as not everyone who was sick sought medical attention nor tested at a reporting facility (as in, they used a home test or no test at all). The large majority of positive flu cases during the 25-26 season had not received a flu shot, and most were under 18 years old.
